Mario Kart Wii is the latest installment of the Mario Kart series. A Wii Wheel, designed from the ground up for the Wii, is included in the package because Nintendo aimed that it would make it a more realistic steering experience. . It is, however, compatible with other controllers as well. It features many classic Mario Kart characters as well as several new ones.
In this game Birdo appears as a Medium Sized unlockable character. Also, she is portrayed by Yuko Kaida. She is unlockable when the player defeats 250 other players in online racing, or when the player does Time Trials on 16 different courses. Birdo shares the Medium-Sized group of karts and bikes, but all in her own favorite colors. Birdo has her own set of bonuses that boost certain stats for her vehicles. Birdo's egg emblem appears throughout the Dry Dry Ruins course, similar to how it appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!'s Dry Dry Desert. Birdo isn't the only character who isn't used as a Staff Ghost. The mii wasn't used as staff either.
